It's funny how when we grow older our perception of things can change. Take a rainy day for instance. As adults we are (well I am) not wanting to go out and get wet. I remember as a kid begging my mom to let me go out and play in the rain puddles. I'd say..."PLEAAASSSEEE let me go out...I promise I won't get wet." Yeah right :)

So today when you see that rain puddle, go ahead and jump in. I dare you. ;)

Since today is SOPA Black Out day I thought I'd take a moment and say the following.

I've never been one to watch the news...frankly it's depressing most of the time. I figure if something important happens someone will tell me. Probably my husband John or a couple hundred people on Facebook and Twitter. I'm not a very political person either. Yet I do have very liberal beliefs, but you probably already know that.

When I create and post cartoons or illustrations I do them with the intent to bring happiness, laughter and joy. This I would not want to have regulated by my government.

So that's my two cents from my little corner of the world. You can now tune into your current programming.

There are those times in our lives when we think...if this person would do this or that then "I" would then be truly happy. The truth I've found for myself is that we are only responsible for our own thoughts, actions, and happiness. I've never found it helpful to control others' actions to try and improve my world.

I'm by no means an athlete...in fact I'm kinda clumsy...two left feet kinda person. I think that is why I love to swim... I can't do much damage under water, but this year I think we need to add a little more. Working from a home studio and sitting at a desk all day can make one ... well in a word ... soft. So here is to getting some muscle in 2012 ;)

I don't know about you but the "scale" has never been my friend.

I've been on a diet pretty much my entire life. If you know me you might find that hard to believe. But my nickname as a kid...so graciously given to me by my brothers friends ... was "Twin Cin". Twice the size of one Cindy. I know, so sad right?

But you know what ... at this point in my life I'm gonna just let go and see what happens!

I've had a good 2011. I say this because it seems that every year around this time all I hear is that people are glad it's over. I've had my ups and downs, believe me...but I keep to my "cup is half full" mantra. Thus the birth of Bunny Daze on June 6, 2011. So I got to thinking...I do that sometimes.

We all go through stages in our lives. Some of us are at the tree stage and some at the acorn stage. What I think is right or wrong is really my personal right and wrong and others' rights and wrongs are their personal rights and wrongs. I've come to a new place in my life to respect all the differences and embrace each of our unique views on each situation. So whether you consider yourself at the acorn or the tree stage of life consider this...we are all part of the same tree.

Separation is Just Perspective

Inspiration is so interesting to me. You see I go to my drafting table every morning and draw what pops in my head. Some days I know exactly what I want to do, but others aren't as easy. Like today...so I sit there and think..and think...then I think uh oh am I out of ideas. That can't be true.

~Then I think well there was that one quote i really like by John Muir: "When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe."

~Then I see an email from "Illustration Friday" that the topic for the week is "Separated"

~Then I think about how the book "A Course in Miracles" talks about how we are all one energy.

~Then from today's "Abraham Hicks" quote: "We are all one Energy Stream, but what makes the separations or distinguishes the differences is perspective. You are a unique and individual perspective."

And then...came the drawing. Hope you like it.

The other day we explored the pier and what did I see? A Merry-Go-Round or to some of you a Carousel. I remember going to Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh PA as a kid and I couldn't wait to get on the Merry-Go-Round. It was an old Merry-Go-Round with grandeur and you felt as though you were riding something magical. That got me thinking when I saw this Merry-Go-Round at the Pier. I get the same excitement from drawing and painting as I do when I see a Merry-Go-Round.

So I guess what I'm saying is when you find that joy inside you that makes your heart race ... grab those reins and enjoy the ride!

Just two days ago I was wearing shorts in 80 degree weather... now I'm in flannel PJ's with rocket ships on them sitting next to a space heater. Next week I'll probably be back in shorts.

I'm not too proud to say that I had to look up the spelling for "consciousness"...why you may ask? Daily I try to practice being in the moment. My husband and I wake to do a daily meditation...I take walks...I try to find joy in every day. To feel that moment of connection to source even for a brief moment is a gift to me. Sometimes I forget to take those moments and float...sometimes I forget what it feels like...or even how to spell it. :)
